Carrie Tropasso GISP

GIS Manager

My career has been a long and winding road of unexpected twists and turns. I began my career as a biologist over 20 years ago, which is where I was first introduced to Geographic Information Systems (GIS). It was an unexpected love and I decided to change careers and focus on GIS full-time. GIS means many different things to different people. Some would say it’s just a map. To me, GIS is a whole discipline, workflow, an interconnected woven component to everything in our world. GIS is not discipline-specific and in the broader sense, GIS is simply the visualization of data. I am a problem-solver by nature and face each challenge head-on with both feet hitting the ground running. GIS is a challenging and ever-changing discipline. As new technologies come about or old technologies change, GIS and its capabilities change right along with the technology. I have prided my career on building solutions to complex problems ranging from the environment to emergency management and many in between.

I’m extremely passionate about what I do and look forward to each new project and the challenges they present. I joined Bent Ear so that I can help organizations realize their existing IT investments at all levels, and to help them build innovative GIS solutions that address their specific needs, overall vision, and mission.
